QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
BWRT® stands for BrainWorking Recursive Therapy. It’s a modern, solution-focused, and evidence-based psychotherapy that can help with a wide range of psychological, emotional, and behavioral issues.
BWRT can help with a wide range of issues, including but not limited to anxiety, stress-related issues, low self-esteem and confidence issues, emotional problems like guilt and shame, habits, communication and relationships, performance, personal productivity, goal setting and achieving.
BWRT works by using a person’s own thought processes to interrupt and reframe patterns of thinking that lead to negative emotions and behaviors. It’s a neural-based therapy that aims to resolve issues at the point where they originate, in the brain’s neural pathways.
No, BWRT is different from hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). BWRT is a standalone therapy that does not involve hypnosis or trance states. It focuses on the present moment and does not require delving into past experiences.
For a start off, we work with a different part of the brain from that which any other therapy does; where many neuroscience-based therapies mention how they work directly with the amygdala in the limbic system, (in charge of emotional and behavioral responses), BWRT® works with a part of the brain that ‘fires up’ long before the limbic system even gets started. In simple terms, BWRT® intercepts and reprograms thoughts before they trigger emotional responses.
While BWRT® is highly effective for many individuals, its success can vary. A personalized consultation can help determine if it is the right approach for you.
The number of sessions required can vary based on individual needs and the severity of the anxiety. Many clients experience significant improvement within a few sessions.
During a BWRT® session, you will work with a therapist to identify and reprogram the subconscious triggers of the issues you want to resolve, often experiencing relief in a safe and supportive environment.
Yes, BWRT is considered safe. It is non-invasive and does not involve any medication or hypnosis. It is carried out by qualified practitioners who have been trained in the BWRT methodology.
The number of sessions required can vary greatly depending on the individual and the complexity of the issue. Many people experience significant improvement within a few sessions, while others may require more.
A typical BWRT session lasts between 45 minutes to an hour. However, the first session is often longer as it includes an initial assessment and discussion of the treatment plan.
BWRT is generally free of side effects. However, as with any form of therapy, some individuals may experience temporary emotional discomfort as they process and resolve their issues.
BWRT can be tailored for children, though I have successfully worked with minor issues in children, my training is not specialized in pediatric therapy. For a consultation or referrals to child-focused professionals, please feel free to contact me.
Coverage for BWRT can vary depending on your insurance provider. It is best to check with your insurance company to see if BWRT is covered under your policy.
